Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement L36

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 422267  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
  2. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
  3. Remove and discard the O-ring.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 422267  Size: SH
  1. Install the O-ring to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
  6. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 1218554  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2).
  4. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2) from the suction hose (4).
  5. Remove and discard the O-ring (3).

  1. Install the O-ring (3) to the suction hose (4). Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2) to the suction hose (4).
  4. Tighten

  5. Install the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
