Chime Level Adjustment

In order to adjust the chime level, perform the following steps:

  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Ensure that the radio is OFF.
  3. Press and hold the radio push-button number 6 until either LOUD or NORMAL appears on the radio display.
  4. To toggle the setting, press and hold the radio push-button number 6 again.

Variable Effort Steering

The variable effort power steering system has 3 response modes.

    • More Firm
    • Factory Calibration
    • Less Firm

The response modes can be changed by using the Tech 2 tool.

Programming Variable Effort Steering With the Tech 2 Tool

Perform the following steps to program the response mode.

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. Select the correct vehicle and model year.
  4. Select Chassis.
  5. Select Magna Steer.
  6. Select Recalibration.
  7. Press Enter.
  8. Press Yes if the VIN # is correct.
  9. Select Yes if vehicle has Magna Steer RPO # NV8.
  10. Select No to select other than Factory Standard Calibration mode.
  11. Select the desired response mode.
  12. When procedure is complete, press Exit to return to the menu.
