Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel.
  2. Remove the door water deflector.

  3. Object Number: 1215624  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rods from the inside door handle (1).
  5. Remove the clip securing the rods to the door.
  6. Remove the handle.

  7. Object Number: 315760  Size: SH
  8. Remove the screws (1,2,3) from the lock.
  9. Remove the lock with the inside rods attached to the lock.

  10. Object Number: 1215634  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  12. Remove the window guides from the lock.
  13. Remove the inside door handle rods from the lock.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Install a new clip to connect the outside handle rod to the door lock lever.

  1. Reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the door lock screws in the proper fastener tightening sequence. First install the top screw (1), then the bottom screw (2) and lastly the middle screw (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Inspect the door lock system for proper operation.
