INOPERATIVE ODOMETER REGISTER ADDITIONAL MILEAGE

CONDITION:

ON SOME 1986 FIERO MODELS, THE ODOMETER WILL NOT REGISTER ADDITIONAL MILEAGE OR THE 10 AMP GAGE FUSE WILL BLOW. CAUSE: THE ODOMETER STEPPER MOTOR RIBBON CABLE SHORTS AGAINST THE SPEEDOMETER CIRCUIT BOARD. ONLY FIERO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH V6 ENGINES ARE AFFECTED. CORRECTION: RETURN DEFECTIVE ODOMETERS/SPEEDOMETERS TO AN AUTHORIZED AC SPARK PLUG SERVICE CENTER FOR REPAIR. VEHICLES AFTER VIN GP207255 HAVE BEEN CORRECTED.
