BROKEN CLUTCH SPRING FINGERS OR BENT CLUTCH FORKS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986-87 FIERO WITH V6 ENGINE AND 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Some 1986 and 1987 Fieros with V6 engines and 5-speed manual transmissions may experience broken clutch pressure plate spring fingers and/or, bent clutch release forks. This condition can occur if the clutch release bearing is not properly installed on the clutch fork.

Proper clutch release bearing installation is shown in the Illustration, Figure 1.
