TRIP ODOMETER RESET PROCEDURE OMITTED FROM OWNER MANUAL

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987-88 FIERO

The recommended procedure for resetting the trip odometer is as follows:

"To reset the trip odometer, push in the trip odometer reset stem until all digits read zero. Then, press again so all zeros line up".

If the stem is not pushed in a second time, the digits may not line up, which could result in the unnecessary replacement of the speedometer assembly.

Owners should be informed of this procedure, if they have questions on odometer digit alignment.

This procedure will be included in the next edition of the owner's manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
