LOOSE GEAR SHIFTER ASSEMBLY FIREBIRD W/MANUAL TRANSMISSION

THIS BULLETIN (82-I-194A) SUPERSEDES AND SHOULD REPLACE BULLETIN 82-I-194, SECTION 7 PAGE 15. A LOOSE GEAR SHIFTER ASSEMBLY MAY BE ENCOUNTERED ON SOME 1982 FIREBIRD MODELS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THIS CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY LOOSE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY RETAINING BOLTS WHICH WERE INSTALLED WITHOUT LOCK WASHERS. TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION REINSTALL BOLTS USING LOCK WASHERS AS SHOWN IN THE FOLLOWING ILLUSTRATION AND TORQUE BOLTS TO 34 NOM (25LBS.).
