THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE SHOULD BE USED WHEN ADDRESSING REAR BRAKE NOISE ON 1982 CAMAROS WITH THE REAR DISC BRAKE OPTION. THIS BULLETIN SUPPLEMENTS CHEVROLET SERVICE BULLETIN 82-T-87. 1.INSPECT INBOARD AND OUTBOARD BUSHINGS IN CALIPER MOUNTING EARS FOR CORRECT POSITION AND/OR DAMAGE. REPOSITION AND/OR REPLACE AS NECESSARY. 2.INSURE THAT THE CALIPER MOUNTING PINS ARE CORRECT (SMALLER DIAMETER AT END). 3.REPLACE THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS USING THE 1983 PARTS AS LISTED. A.REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE LEVERS ON THE CALIPERS USING P/N 18010361 (SEE FIGURE 1). B.REPLACE THE RIGHT-HAND REAR BRAKE PIPE USING P/N 10026871 AND INSTALL NEW HOSE (P/N 9769606) (SEE FIGURE 2). C.INSTALL SUPPORT BRACKET, P/N 10026870, USING ORIGINAL SCREW (SEE FIGURE 3). D.REMOVE AND DISCARD ORIGINAL FITTING, BOLT AND WASHERS FROM CALIPER. E.ATTACH THE HOSE TO THE RIGHT CALIPER USING A NEW BOLT (P/N 14000404) AND TWO (2) WASHERS (P/N 14000172) (SEE FIGURE 4). F.INSTALL HOSE TO SUPPORT BRACKET WITH RETAINER CLIP (P/N 334961) (SEE FIGURE 3). 4.BLEED THE REAR BRAKE PORTION OF THE SYSTEM AND ADJUST IFNECESSARY, THE PARK BRAKE SYSTEM USING THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN SECTION 5 OF THE 1982 CHEVROLET SERVICE MANUAL.
