SEAT CHUCKING NOISE TWO-WAY MANUAL SEAT ADJUSTER
This bulletin is intended to reduce the number of manual two way seat adjusters being REPLACED for chucking conditions, when adjustments to the system may correct the condition.
This bulletin is not intended to resolve all chucking conditions.
1. Remove complete seat assembly from vehicle and place upside-down on clean work surface.
2. Remove assist spring, and using adjuster handle, release inner and outer lock bars and move adjuster track fore and aft several times.
A. Adjuster can not be cycled. B. Adjuster track toggles within housing. C. Other identifiable conditions exists.
3. Re-install assist spring to the handle side track, and position both adjuster tracks so the seat is full forward.
4. Verify that the inner and outer lock bars are seated within the last opening in the adjuster track by visual inspection.
5. With seat still in full forward position, reinstall in vehicle and and torque rear attachments to 20-28 N.m.
6. Start front attachments with seat full forward, adjust seat rearward and torque to 20-28 N.m.
