LIFT OFF PANEL

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1988 CAMARO AND FIREBIRD -----------------

Lift off panel opening weatherstrips for some 1988 Camaro and Firebird styles have a new method of attachment.

The body side portion of the weatherstrip now attaches directly to the retainer to improve butt joint stability.

The Illustration depicts the new attachment method and also includes the new part numbers for the weatherstrips and retainers.

NOTICE: FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, BOTH SYSTEMS (THE NEW 1988 TYPE OF ATTACHMENT AND THE 1987 AND EARLIER TYPE OF ATTACHMENT) WILL BE USED ON 1988 VEHICLES.

Should service be required for waterleak repairs please refer to past bulletin for waterleak correction (P.S.B. #86-2-154 dated AUG. 4/86).
