VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1993 "F" MODEL WITH 5.7L (LT1) ENGINE AND 4L60 TRANSMISSION
1993 F-Cars equipped with a 2.73 axle and a HYDRA-MATIC 4L60 transmission (3FFM) will have a second start when in D2 and taking off from a stop at minimum or part throttle. This is normal operation for this vehicle. When taking off from a stop in D2 at full throttle the vehicle will start in first gear.
When in OD or D3 the vehicle will have a first gear start at any throttle as experienced in the past.
This is an added feature for this particular calibration 3FFM with the 2.73 axle and the LT1 engine.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
