INFORMATION ON AUDIO SYSTEM SERVICE ISSUES

SUBJECT: 1993 F-BODY AUDIO SYSTEM SERVICE ISSUES

INFORMATION: TWO VEHICLE ISSUES IN THE 1993 F-BODY MAY RESULT IN THE RADIO TESTING NTF ON THE BENCH:

CAMARO AND 1.THE ANTENNA BRACKET HAS BEEN CHANGED TO IMPROVE THE FIREBIRD GROUND OF THE ANTENNA SYSTEM. THE ORIGINAL BRACKET CAN CAUSE A POOR OR INTERMITTENT GROUND WHICH COULD RESULT IN POOR OR NOISY RECEPTION. THE VEHICLE DEALER SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO THE IMPROVED BRACKET. THE DEALER SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER FOR THIS ISSUE IS 339601.

CAMARO ONLY 2.IF THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A BOSE SYSTEM, THE FRONT AMPLIFIERS MAY EXPERIENCE WATER INTRUSION, RESULTING IN INTERMITTENT OR NO OPERATION OF ONE OR BOTH FRONT SPEAKERS. THE DEALER SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER FOR THIS ISSUE IS 331060.

UPON RETURN OF THE RADIO, INSTRUCT THE DEALER TO REFER TO DEALER SERVICE BULLETINS OR TO THEIR VEHICLE DIVISION TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, TO CORRECT THE ABOVE TWO CONDITIONS.
