Fuel Hose/Pipes Assembly Replacement Rear Pipes

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 173576  Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  3. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Clean all fuel and EVAP pipe and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  6. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  7. Fold back the left fuel tank insulator.
  8. Remove the rear fuel feed pipe (3), the rear return pipe (2), the EVAP pipe (1), and the fuel tank vent valve hose (4) from the fuel sender pipes. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  10. Disconnect the EVAP hose (5) from the EVAP canister vent solenoid.
  11. Remove the rear fuel and EVAP pipes.
  12. Cap the fuel pipes in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 173576  Size: SH
  1. Remove the caps from the fuel pipes.
  2. Connect the rear fuel feed pipe (3), the rear return pipe (2), the EVAP pipe (1), and the fuel tank vent valve hose (4) to the fuel sender pipes. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  3. Object Number: 183854  Size: SH
  4. Connect the EVAP hose (5) to the EVAP canister vent solenoid.
  5. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Refill the fuel tank.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  10. Inspect for leaks.
  11. 9.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    9.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    9.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    9.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  12. Perform the Idle Learn Procedure. Refer to Idle Learn .
