Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 181244  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the nut (1).
  3. Remove the link (3). Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 181243  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts and screws (1) and the nuts (4).
  6. Remove the clamp (3).
  7. Remove the insulator (7).
  8. Remove the bracket (6).
  9. Remove the stabilizer shaft (5).

Installation Procedure

Important: Install the rear stabilizer shaft with the bend of the shaft facing down.

Important: The slit of the shaft insulator must face the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Place the insulator (7) over the stabilizer shaft (5).
  2. Position the clamp (3) to the insulator (7) and the stabilizer shaft (5).
  3. Position the bracket (6) to the rear axle (2).
  4. Install the bolts and screws (1) and the nuts (4).
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the stabilizer shaft link nut. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (4) to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
