Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Description for Pontiac Firebird 1998

The brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) system prevents the driver from shifting out of the PARK position without simultaneously pressing the brake pedal. When energized, the BTSI solenoid locks the automatic transmission control lever.
