Hood Air Extractor Replacement Pontiac

1. Remove the hood insulator front attachments.
2. Remove the hood air extractor nuts.



3. Remove the hood air extractor (4).
4. Remove the hood air extractor screen bolts/screws (3).
5. Remove the hood air extractor screen (5).



6. Unsnap the hood air extractor screen (3) from the hood (4).

1. Snap the hood air extractor screen (3) to the hood (4).



2. Install the hood air extractor screen (5) to the hood air extractor (4).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the hood air extractor screen bolts/screws (3).

Tighten
Tighten the hood air extractor screen bolts/screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).

4. Install the hood air extractor (4) to the hood (1).
5. Install the hood air extractor nuts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the hood air extractor nuts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

6. Install the hood insulator front attachments.

Hood Air Extractor Replacement Chevrolet

1. Remove the hood insulator front attachments.
2. Remove the hood air extractor nuts.



3. Remove the hood air extractor (1).
4. Remove the hood air extractor screen (5).

1. Install the hood air extractor screen (3) to the hood air extractor (1).
2. Install the hood air extractor (1) to the hood (2).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
