Removal Procedure
5.7L Engine Only
- Remove the intake manifold.

Intake Manifold Replacement
.
- Disconnect the knock sensor wire harness clips from the vent pipe.
- Remove the engine coolant air pipe studs and bolts at the cylinder
heads.
- Remove the engine coolant air bleed pipe.
- Remove the throttle body
hose and clamp from the coolant air bleed pipe.
- Remove the gaskets from the coolant air bleed pipe.
- Discard the old coolant air bleed pipe gaskets.
Installation Procedure
- Install new coolant air
bleed pipe gaskets onto the coolant air bleed pipe.
Position the gasket O-ring seal onto the nipple portion of the coolant
air bleed pipe.
- Install the throttle body hose and clamp to the coolant air bleed
pipe.
Important: Route the knock sensor wire harness over the top of the engine coolant
air bleed pipe. The engine coolant air bleed pipe and knock sensor harness
should be installed in a manner as to allow the removal of the harness without
requiring the removal of the engine coolant air bleed pipe.
- Place the engine coolant
air bleed pipe onto the cylinder heads.
- Install the coolant air bleed pipe bolts and studs to the cylinder
heads.
Tighten
Tighten the coolant air bleed pipe studs and bolts to 12 N·m
(106 lb in).
- Connect the knock sensor wire harness clips to the coolant air
bleed pipe.
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to
