Removal Procedure

5.7L Engine Only


    Object Number: 363239  Size: SH
  1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the knock sensor wire harness clips from the vent pipe.
  3. Remove the engine coolant air pipe studs and bolts at the cylinder heads.
  4. Remove the engine coolant air bleed pipe.

  5. Object Number: 64262  Size: SH
  6. Remove the throttle body hose and clamp from the coolant air bleed pipe.
  7. Remove the gaskets from the coolant air bleed pipe.
  8. Discard the old coolant air bleed pipe gaskets.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64262  Size: SH
  1. Install new coolant air bleed pipe gaskets onto the coolant air bleed pipe.
  2. Position the gasket O-ring seal onto the nipple portion of the coolant air bleed pipe.

  3. Install the throttle body hose and clamp to the coolant air bleed pipe.
  4. Important: Route the knock sensor wire harness over the top of the engine coolant air bleed pipe. The engine coolant air bleed pipe and knock sensor harness should be installed in a manner as to allow the removal of the harness without requiring the removal of the engine coolant air bleed pipe.

  5. Place the engine coolant air bleed pipe onto the cylinder heads.
  6. Install the coolant air bleed pipe bolts and studs to the cylinder heads.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the coolant air bleed pipe studs and bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  8. Connect the knock sensor wire harness clips to the coolant air bleed pipe.
  9. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement
