Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 173450  Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  3. Clean all the fuel pipe and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  4. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  5. Remove the fuel filler pocket (1). Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement in Body Rear End.

  7. Remove the fuel fill pipe shield.

  8. Object Number: 327608  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fuel tank fill pipe support bracket bolt.

  10. Object Number: 376980  Size: SH
  11. Remove the fuel fill hose to fuel fill pipe clamp (2).
  12. Remove the fuel tank fill pipe from the fuel fill hose and from the fuel filler pocket opening.
  13. Cap the fuel fill hose opening.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 327608  Size: SH
  1. Uncap the fuel fill hose.
  2. Install the fuel tank fill pipe to the fuel fill hose and into the fuel filler pocket opening.
  3. Install the fuel tank fill pipe support bracket bolt.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank fill pipe support bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the fuel fill hose to fuel fill pipe clamp (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  7. Install the fuel filler pocket (1). Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement in Body Rear End.

  8. Object Number: 21288  Size: SH
  9. Install the fuel fill pipe shield.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill pipe shield bolt to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  11. Install the fuel filler cap.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Perform the idle learn procedure. Refer to PCM Idle Learn Procedure .
