Was the Powertrain On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check performed?

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (V6 VIN K) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (V8 VIN G)

1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle data link connector (DLC).
2. Using the scan tool, attempt to perform the fuel gauge sweep test.

Does the engine fuel gauge sweep from empty to full and return to empty?

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (V6 VIN K) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (V8 VIN G)

Go to Step 3

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the repair complete?
