Headlamp Bracket Replacement Chevrolet
Removal Procedure
- Open the hood. Install the fender covers.
- Disconnect battery.
- Disconnect electrical connections to headlamps.
- Remove the headlamp bracket
bolts (3, 5, 6), bracket nut (2), and the headlamp bracket brace (4)
from the headlamp bracket (7).
- Remove the headlamp bracket (7) from mounting bracket studs (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the headlamp bracket (7)
to the vehicle radiator support (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the headlamp
bracket bolts (3, 5, 6), bracket nut (2), and the headlamp bracket
brace (4) to the headlamp bracket (7).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts (3, 5, 6) and nut (2) to
10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect electrical connection to headlamps.
- Connect battery.
- Remove fender covers and close hood.
- Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to
Headlamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Install the front bumper support and support bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the front fascia bumper. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
in Bumpers.
- Verify headlamp alignment and projection.
