Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat cushion trim. Refer to Seat Cushion Inner Trim Panel Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 330805  Size: MH
  3. Pull the seatback cover sufficiently forward in order to access the bolts (2).
  4. Remove the bolts (2) that attach the recliner to the front seat.
  5. Remove the front seatback. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
  6. Remove the recliner (5).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 330805  Size: MH
  1. Install the recliner (5) to the front seat.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts (2) that attach the recliner (5) to the front seat.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (2) to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the front seatback. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
  6. Install the seatback cover to the original position.
  7. Install the seat cushion trim. Refer to Seat Cushion Inner Trim Panel Replacement .

Recliner Control Check

  1. Lift the recliner control handle.
  2. Press the seatback rearward into a fully reclined position (21 degrees from the intermediate position).
  3. Inspect the ease of the recliner control handle operation and the seatback movement.
  4. Release the recliner control handle.
  5. Ensure that the handle returns to its original position and that the seatback remains fully reclined.

  6. Lift the recliner control handle.
  7. Pull the seatback forward to an intermediate reclined position.
  8. Release the recliner control handle.
  9. Press the seatback rearward in order to ensure that the seatback is locked and stays in position.
  10. Lift the recliner control handle and move the seatback to the normal position.
  11. Verify the ease of the recliner control handle operation and the seatback return.

  12. Release the recliner control handle.
  13. Press the seatback rearward in order to ensure that the seatback is locked and stays in position.
  14. If the recliner control does not operate correctly, remove and replace the recliner control.
