Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 181235  Size: MH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Support the rear axle (2) with an adjustable lifting device.
  3. Remove the bolt 6) and nut (8) from the left-hand rear axle bracket.
  4. Remove the bolts (7) from the left-hand under body brace bracket (1).
  5. Remove the bolts (10) and nuts (9) from the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
  6. Remove the rear axle tie rod (5).
  7. Remove the rear axle tie rod upper brace (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 181235  Size: MH
  1. Position the rear axle tie rod upper brace (4) to the right-hand upper body brace bracket (3).
  2. Hand tighten the upper bolt (10) and nut (9) to the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
  3. Position the rear axle tie rod (5) to the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
  4. Hand tighten the lower bolt (10) and nut (9) to the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the bolts (7) to the left-hand underbody brace bracket (1).
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolts and screws (7) to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
        • Tighten the nuts (9) to 82 N·m (61 lb ft).
  8. Install the bolt (6) and nut (8) to the left-hand rear axle bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nut (8) to 82 N·m (61 lb ft).

  10. Remove the rear axle support.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
