Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 3.8L Engine
Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system.
Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical
connector.
- Loosen the air duct clamp.
- Remove the intake air duct resonator.
- Reposition the outlet
hose clamp at the water pump.
- Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Reposition the outlet
hose clamp at the radiator.
- Remove the outlet hose (2) from the radiator.
- Remove the outlet hose support from the fan shroud.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outlet hose
support to the fan shroud.
- Install the outlet hose (2) to the radiator.
- Position the outlet hose at the radiator.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the outlet hose
to the water pump.
- Position the outlet hose at the water pump.
- Install the intake air
duct resonator.
- Tighten the air duct clamp.
- Connect the IAT sensor
electrical connector.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 5.7L Engine
Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system.

Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
• | Intake air temperature (IAT) sensor |
• | Mass airflow (MAF) sensor |
- Remove the air cleaner
outlet duct.
- Reposition the outlet
hose clamp at the water outlet.
- Remove the outlet hose from the water outlet.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Reposition the outlet
hose clamp at the radiator.
- Remove the outlet hose (2) from the radiator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outlet hose
(2) to the radiator.
- Position the outlet hose at the radiator.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the outlet hose
to the water outlet.
- Position the outlet hose clamp at the water outlet.
- Install the air cleaner
outlet duct.
- Connect the following
electrical connectors:
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
