Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 33330  Size: SH
  1. Remove the control lever boot. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Boot Replacement .
  2. Remove the transmission control bolts.

  3. Object Number: 33331  Size: SH
  4. Clean the old sealant from the extension housing and the transmission control sealing surface.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 38411  Size: SH
  1. Apply a continuous 3 mm (0.125 in) bead of gasket maker on the extension housing-to-control sealing surface. Use GM P/N 12345739 or equivalent.

  2. Object Number: 33330  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the transmission control bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission control lever bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Install the control lever boot. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Boot Replacement .
