Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 220584  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the air conditioning (A/C) belt idler pulley bolt (2).
  2. Remove the A/C belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Replacement .
  3. Remove the A/C belt idler pulley (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 220584  Size: SH
  1. Install the A/C belt idler pulley (1) and bolt until snug.
  2. Important: Be sure that the idler pulley is fully seated against the shoulder on the A/C compressor bracket post before tightening the bolt.

  3. Install the A/C belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Replacement .
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Tighten the A/C belt idler pulley bolt (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C belt idler pulley bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
