Did you perform the IPC Diagnostic System Check?

Turn on the ignition.

Does the volt gage display approximately battery voltage?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the IPC Input Ignition 1 parameter.

Does the Ignition 1 parameter measure within the specified values?

9-16 V

Go to Step 6

Test the ignition 1 voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the IPC. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Important: Program the replacement IPC.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
