Did you perform the IPC Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. With a scan tool, observe the Engine Oil Life Percent in the PCM engine 2 data list.

Does the scan tool display zero percent with the change engine oil message on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Reset GM engine oil life system. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.
2. With a scan tool, observe the Engine Oil Life percent in PCM engine 2 data list.

Does the engine oil life parameter display 100%?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the replacement IPC.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 5

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
