Removal Procedure

Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

  1. Place the window in halfway down position.
  2. Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Support the window in position by inserting a rubber wedge door stops at the front and rear of the window between the window and the door inner panel.

  5. Object Number: 378904  Size: MH
  6. Remove the window rear guide nuts.
  7. Drill out the window regulator rivets.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the regulator motor by sliding the motor and the regulator rearward, if equipped.
  9. Remove the window regulator (3) from the guide channels.
  10. Remove the window regulator with the regulator motor attached, if equipped.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the window requlator with the regulator motor through the rear access hole. (1)
  2. Install the window regulator to the guide channels in the door.
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the regulator motor, if equipped.
  4. Install the window regulator rivets (5).
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the window rear guide channel nuts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the window rear guide nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  9. Install the front side door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
