Power Seat Switch Replacement for Pontiac Firebird 2001
Removal Procedure
- Remove the front bucket
seat (1). Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
- Remove the recliner trim cover (2) from the bucket seat (1).
- Disconnect the wire harness from the power seat switch (3).
- Remove the screws from the power seat switch (3), and remove
the power seat switch from the recliner trim cover (2).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the power seat switch (3) to the recliner trim cover (2),
and install the screws to the power seat switch.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).
- Connect the wire harness to the power seat switch (3).
- Install the recliner trim cover (2) to the bucket seat (1)
and install the screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).
