Removal Procedure
- Remove the exterior retaining bolt and discard.
- Remove the left instrument panel insulator (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Disconnect the harness from the throttle actuator control (TAC) module.
- Remove the interior retaining bolt and nut.
- Remove the pedal of the TAC module assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the pedal of the TAC module assembly to the vehicle.
- Install the interior retaining bolt and nut.
- Connect the harness to the TAC module.
- Install the left instrument panel insulator (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Install the new exterior retaining bolt.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m(18 lb ft) and
tighten the nut to 20 N·m(15 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m(71 lb in).
