Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 490650  Size: SH
  1. Remove the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  2. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2) and bolt (1).

  3. Object Number: 490653  Size: SH
  4. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp (1).

  5. Object Number: 490659  Size: SH
  6. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator (1).

  7. Object Number: 490656  Size: SH
  8. Remove the stabilizer shaft rod bracket (1).

  9. Object Number: 490663  Size: SH
  10. Remove the stabilizer shaft (1).

Installation Procedure

Important: Install the rear stabilizer shaft with the bend of the shaft facing down.

Important: The slit of the shaft insulator must face the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator (1) over the stabilizer shaft.

  2. Object Number: 490653  Size: SH
  3. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp (1) over the insulator.

  4. Object Number: 490656  Size: SH
  5. Place the stabilizer shaft rod bracket (1) against rear axle.

  6. Object Number: 490650  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bolt (1) and clamp nuts (2).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
