Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold studs to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Tighten
• | Tighten the spark plugs to 27 N·m (20 lb ft) when installing the spark plugs in to a new cylinder head. |
• | Tighten the spark plugs to 15 N·m (13 lb ft) when re-installing the spark plugs after initial installation. |
Tighten
Tighten the left engine lift hook nut and bolt to 30 N·m
(22 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the left exhaust manifold heat shield nuts to 20 N·m
(15 lb ft).

Tighten
• | Tighten the 2 heat shield nuts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the heat shield bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in). |
Important: Inspect the EGR inlet pipe for leaks. Replace the EGR adapter if the pipe leaks.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (36 lb ft) and
the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) .
