Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 571436  Size: SH
  1. Remove the right side insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the left side insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the instrument panel (IP) compartment door hinge screws.
  4. Remove the IP compartment door.
  5. Remove the heating HVAC module assembly screws.
  6. Disconnect the recirculation actuator linkage.
  7. Remove the recirculation actuator (2) and vacuum hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the recirculation actuator (2) and vacuum hose.
  2. Connect the recirculation actuator linkage.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the HVAC module assembly screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the HVAC module assembly screws to 1.8 N·m (16 lb in).

  6. Install the IP compartment door.
  7. Install the IP compartment hinge screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the IP compartment hinge screws to 2.8 N·m (25 lb in).

  9. Install the left side insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Install the right side insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
