Did you review the Exterior Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems

1. Turn the headlamps ON.
2. Turn the front fog lamp switch ON.
3. Turn the rear fog lamps switch ON.

Does the rear fog lamp indicator illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the rear fog lamps operate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Rear Fog Lamps Inoperative

1. Leave the headlamps ON.
2. Leave the front fog lamps ON.
3. Leave the rear fog lamps ON.
4. Backprobe the supply voltage circuit of the rear fog lamp switch indicator with a test lamp that is connected to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear fog lamp switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair an open or high resistance in the supply voltage circuit of the rear fog lamp switch indicator . Refer to Wiring Repairs or to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the rear fog lamp switch. Refer to Rear Fog Lamp Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
