Removal Procedure

Notice: Check the throttle lever screw and the throttle stop screw for evidence of tampering before replacing the ISC motor. Perform the following 2 inspections:

   • Open the throttle lever to the full open position. Check that the yellow paint has not come off of the throttle lever screw.
   • Turn the resin cap of the throttle stop screw on the throttle body side with your fingers. Check the entire cap for damage.
Do not replace the ISC motor if any yellow paint has come off the throttle lever screw or if the resin cap is damaged. Replace the throttle body assembly as a unit.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the ISC motor to the TBI unit with the three screws (1).
  2. Tighten
Tighten the ISC motor screws to 2.8 to 4.0 N·m (24 to 36  lb in).

  3. Connect the ISC motor electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Run the engine to normal operating temperature and check that the idle speed is within the specified idle range. Refer to Idle Speed Inspection .
