Backup Lamp Bulb Replacement 2-Door

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the 2 screws which secure the tail lamp (5).
3. Remove the tail lamp (5) from the vehicle by pulling upward and rearward.
4. Remove the socket of the backup lamp bulb (1) from the tail lamp (5).
5. Remove the backup lamp bulb (1) from the socket.

1. Install the backup lamp bulb (1) to the socket.
2. Install the socket of the backup lamp bulb (1) to the tail lamp (5).
3. Install the tail lamp (5) to the vehicle. Secure the lamp (5) with 2 screws.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.

Backup Lamp Bulb Replacement 4-Door

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Open the rear compartment lid.
3. Reposition the rear compartment side trim in order to gain access to the tail lamp retaining nut.
4. Remove the 1 nut which secures the tail lamp (1).
5. Remove the 2 screws which secure the tail lamp (1).
6. Remove the tail lamp (1) from the vehicle by pulling upward and rearward.
7. Remove the socket of the backup lamp bulb (2) from the tail lamp (1).
8. Remove the backup lamp bulb (2) from the socket.

1. Install the backup lamp bulb (2) to the socket.
2. Install the socket of the backup lamp bulb (2) to the tail lamp (1).
3. Install the tail lamp (1) to the vehicle. Secure the lamp with 2 screws and the retaining nut.
4. Position the rear compartment side trim back to it's original position.
5. Close the rear compartment lid.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
