Removal Procedure
- Remove the bolt from the air inlet duct resonator to the air intake
box.
- Loosen the hose clamp on the resonator pipe, and swing the pipe
out of the way.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector from the throttle position (TP) sensor.
- Remove the 2 screws and the TP sensor from the throttle body.
Installation Procedure
- Align the TP sensor (3)
to the throttle body with the TP sensor's upper screw hole (1) slightly ahead
of the hole on the throttle body (2). This will correctly engage the throttle
lever tab with the TP sensor movement.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Rotate the TP sensor
(1) rearward in order to align the screw holes, and install the 2 screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.0 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
- Attach the resonator pipe to the air intake box, and secure the
pipe with one bolt.
- Tighten the hose clamp on the resonator.
