Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement Front
Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support
the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General information.
- Remove the Front wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the retaining bolt.
- Remove the front wheel speed sensor (1) from the steering knuckle
(2).
Installation Procedure
Important: Make sure that the front wheel speed sensor (1) is properly aligned
and lays flat against the bosses on the knuckle (2).
- Install the front wheel speed sensor (1) to the steering knuckle (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the retaining
bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N·m (86 lb in).
- Connect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
- Install the Front wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Perform the
Diagnostic System Check - ABS
.
Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement Rear
Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support
the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General information.
- Remove the Rear wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector (2).
- Remove the retaining bolt (1).
- Remove the rear wheel speed sensor (3) from the rear suspension
knuckle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear wheel
speed sensor (3) to the rear suspension knuckle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
