Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  3. • The 5 retainer clips for the left splash shield
    • Remove the left splash shield.
  4. Support the transaxle with a suitable hydraulic jack.

  5. Object Number: 180004  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 2 retaining nuts (2) from the left transaxle mount.

  7. Object Number: 180008  Size: SH
  8. Remove the through-bolt (1) from the left transaxle mount (4).
  9. Lower the transaxle slightly until the left transaxle bracket (6) is clear of the left transaxle mounting studs.
  10. Remove the left transaxle mount from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the left transaxle mount into the vehicle.
  2. Use a suitable hydraulic jack in order to raise the transaxle into position.

  3. Object Number: 180008  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the through-bolt (1) into the left transaxle mount (4).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the left transaxle through-bolt to 60  N·m (44 lb ft).

  6. Install the 2 transaxle mount retaining nuts (2).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining nuts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  8. Remove the hydraulic jack.
  9. Install the left splash shield onto the vehicle.
  10. Use the 5 retainer clips in order to secure the splash shield.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
