Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Knock Sensor Service Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225044 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the knock sensor (1).

    4. Object Number: 1225033 Size: SH
  4. Remove the knock sensor retaining bolt (1).
  5. Remove the knock sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225014 Size: SH
  1. Install the knock sensor with the bolt (1).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the knock sensor retaining bolt to 15-25 N·m (11-18 lb ft).

  2. Connect the electrical connector to the knock sensor.
  3. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
