The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Due to numerous different DTCs that can be set, this PI may be a good starting point when diagnosing any particular DTC.
Some customers may complain of numerous different driveability complaints which may be accompanied with different DTCs. It has been determined that the wiring harnesses coming out of the ECM on the LY7 engine has the possibility of contacting the upper right transmission valve body cover bolt. If the wiring in the engine harness comes out of the conduit, it may chafe on the valve body cover bolt.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Repair chaffed wire in harness. Insert all wires of wire harness assembly back into the conduit. Wrap engine harness with electrical tape in the area where harness may contact the transmission cover bolt to keep the wires in the harness conduit.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
