Radio Inoperative After Dash Repairs Were Made - keywords audio bezel connector control harness head HVAC inop inoperative no repair swapped trim volume wiring

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A condition has been identified that the radio and HVAC systems could become inoperative after they were replaced or reinstalled back into the dash. This normally occurs after dash repairs were made for other reasons. (Wiring shorts, Rattles, Trim replacement, Radio & HVAC replacement)

There is a potential to swap the Radio connector #2 (C2) with the HVAC control head Connector #1 (C1) as these connectors are the same size and shape.

If the connectors are both lying there it may be necessary to check for the correct wire colors in terminal #1 of each connector:

HVAC connector (C1) = Light-Green wire

Radio connector (C2) = Brown-White wire

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
