Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement for Pontiac G5 2009

Special Tools

J 42067 Rear Main Seal Installer

1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement.



2. Remove the flywheel.




Note: Do not damage the outside diameter of the crankshaft or chamber with any tool.

3. Pry the crankshaft rear oil seal with a flat-bladed tool.

1. Use the J 42067 and install the seal.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




2. Install the flywheel and tighten to 53 N·m (39 lb ft) plus 25 degrees.
3. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement.
