Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement for the 3.9L engine.

  2. Object Number: 1588315  Size: SH
  3. Remove the nut from the clutch pedal stud.
  4. Remove the driver side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .

  5. Object Number: 1588008  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) from the clutch pedal pin (2).
  7. Disconnect the clutch position sensor electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 1588314  Size: SH
  9. Remove the clutch pedal mounting bolt (3).
  10. Remove the clutch pedal mounting nuts (2).
  11. Remove the clutch pedal (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1588314  Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch pedal (1)
  2. Install the clutch pedal mounting nuts (2). HAND TIGHTEN ONLY.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the clutch pedal mounting bolt (3).
  5. Tighten

        • Tighten the nuts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
  6. Connect the clutch position sensor electrical connector.

  7. Object Number: 1588008  Size: SH
  8. Position the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) to the clutch pedal pin (2).
  9. Push the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) onto the clutch pedal pin (2) to secure.
  10. Install the driver side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .

  11. Object Number: 1588315  Size: SH
  12. Install the nut to the clutch pedal stud.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  14. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement for the 3.9L engine.
  15. Warning: Replacement or reprogramming of the ECM, or replacement of the clutch pedal position sensor (CPPS) or clutch pedal requires that a CPPS learn procedure be performed. Failure to perform the CPPS learn procedure may result in personal injury or damage to the vehicle or its components if the vehicle is in gear and the starter motor is accidentally engaged.

  16. Program the clutch position sensor. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Learn .
