Transmission Fluid Check for Pontiac G6 2007
Important:
| • | It is not necessary to check the fluid level unless the fluid has been changed or a leak is suspected. |
| • | Inspect the fluid level only when the engine is OFF. Ensure the vehicle is level. The transaxle must be cold. |
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the fluid level check plug (1).
- Verify that the fluid is level with the opening.
- If the transaxle is not properly filled, carefully add GM P/N 21018899 manual transmission fluid until it begins to flow out of the fill/check plug.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the fluid level check plug (1).
Tighten
Tighten the fluid level check plug to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
