Remote Start Inoperative - keywords AP3 AP8 enable hood inop latch no RVS starter

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Upon activation of a vehicle's built with the AP8 option the Remote Start may not function properly. RPO AP8 for Remote Starter Enable is standard for any 2007 G6 built without the actual AP3 Remote Start option. The AP8 allows simple activation of the Remote Start since these vehicles are built with all the proper Remote Start components.

Cause:  Vehicle's may have been built with the Incorrect hood latch

Install the proper hood latch PN # 15291786

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
