Interior Lights Stay On And Possible Door Ajar Message - keywords console dome DRL harness headlight light wiring

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition:

A customer might comment in daylight condition they noticed the Interior lights staying on and or the door ajar message may illuminate on the radio. This condition will normally occur when the BCM turns on the Daytime Running lights (DRL'S). If you turn on the regular headlights with the switch or if you drive into a darken area the concern may go away.

Cause:

Mis-routed wiring harness under the left front corner of the console.

Remove the center console and inspect for body harness damage at the left side of the center console. You may need to repair the wiring harness and reroute the harness correctly.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
