This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIC4661.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

There is an under vehicle wiring harness that could be damaged by road debris. If this was to occur it could cause any of the below codes to set.

  1. P0442
  2. P0449
  3. P0455
  4. P0461
  5. P0463
  6. C0045
  7. C0050

Along with these codes you could have symptoms such as

  1. Crank NO start
  2. SES light on
  3. ABS Light on
  4. Fuel gauge inoperative/erratic

Recommendation/Instructions:

You will need to inspect the wiring harness coming out of the right rear floor pan area at connector # 413. The harness is located in front of the EVAP canister, and will usually show signs of wear. Make sure that you inspect all the wiring carefully and make all necessary repairs to the harness.

Once the harness is repaired you can use a zip tie and "loosely" fasten the harness to the right rear parking brake cable.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
