Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2008 🢒 G6 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1827002 Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Completely loosen the idler pulley bolt.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  4. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (1).

    5. Object Number: 1827004 Size: SH
  5. Reposition the battery cable boot then disconnect the battery cable from the generator .
  6. Remove the generator bolts and position generator aside.

    7. Object Number: 1826824 Size: SH
  7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
  8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1826824 Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt idler pulley.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  3. Position generator in place then install the generator bolts.
  4. Install the battery cable.
  5. Install the battery cable boot.

    6. Object Number: 1827002 Size: SH
  6. Connect the generator electrical connector (1).
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
