Subject:Convertible Top Inop AFTER Hydraulic Pump Replacement

Models:2006-2009 Pontiac G6 Convertible

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

You may experience a slow moving/inoperative convertible top after you replaced the hydraulic pump motor for any reason. It has been identified through warranty reviews that the hydraulic lines where NOT pushed all the way into the "new" hydraulic pump manifold assembly. This will cause the "ball cock" to NOT be fully depressed and allow only minimal fluid flow into the lines.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Make sure all lines are fully seated into the Manifold assembly.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
